Three details make review faster

01

Page URL

Link to the exact profile, comparison, or guide that needs review.

02

Exact claim

Quote or identify the sentence, number, image, or table entry at issue.

03

Supporting source

Include the paper, database, institution, breeder record, or other evidence.

A publicly accessible source is easiest to verify. If a record requires a subscription or is not available online, include enough bibliographic detail for the Editorial Team to identify it without sending copyrighted material.

Handling process

What happens after a correction arrives

  1. Route

The message reaches the inbox responsible for the request.

  2. Check

The Editorial Team compares the claim with the supplied and existing sources.

  3. Resolve

The page is updated when the evidence supports a change; material fixes may receive an update note.

Not every submission leads to a change. A response may explain why an existing source remains stronger, ask for enough context to identify the record, or route a broader coverage idea into future editorial planning.

Response targets

Expected timing by request

Factual correctionsAs soon as source review allows
Content contributionsUsually within 5 business days
PartnershipsUsually within 5 business days
General feedbackUsually within 7 business days

These are targets, not guaranteed deadlines. Messages that require source access, cross-page checks, or clarification may take longer.

Urgent safety or identity errors should use the corrections inbox and name the affected page in the subject line.
